Since last June, the Montréal Metropolitan Airport (MET), located in the Saint-Hubert borough on the South Shore of the St. Lawrence River, has welcomed a growing number of travellers thanks to connections with several Canadian destinations.
The YHU terminal has been enjoying tremendous success.
Imagine arriving by plane in the Greater Montréal area and quickly trading your suitcase for a bicycle. Just a few hours earlier, you were in the Maritimes, Ontario or another Canadian province.
Now, you’re ready to set off and discover Québec on two wheels.
Perhaps the idea isn’t as far-fetched as it may seem. The MET is working to make getting around easier through several transportation options, including a bus connection to the Longueuil métro station and a BIXI bike-sharing station near the terminal.
There’s even a brand-new bike path leading right to the airport!
For cycling enthusiasts, this new option opens the door to a different way of thinking about a vacation.
Once you’ve arrived in Greater Montréal, the possibilities for cycling adventures are endless. Montérégie, in particular, is a vast playground for cyclists, with its countryside landscapes, welcoming villages and cycling networks that make it possible to extend the adventure over several days.
And why not continue on to other regions of Québec afterward?
